Our Structured Insulation Panels (SIP)
Take a read of why our SIP panels are higher quality, more accurate and better value panels.
Quality Panels
Many industries can benefit by switching from timber frame or block work to SIP, but it’s worth stressing that not all SIPs are constructed in the same way. SIPs are constructed with three layers: Finished board or timber (OSB) Sheet – Insulation layer – Timber (OSB) Sheet.
Some panels are manufactured by stacking the three pre-fabricated layers and gluing them together. This mechanical level of manufacturing technology has stress limitations and can occasionally delaminate.
Premier SIP panels are pressure injection moulded, which means the two timber boards (or finished board) are clamped in place and liquid resin is pumped into the space between them. As the resin cures with an exothermic reaction, it binds into the fibres of the board and provides mechanical and additional chemical bonding, for far superior rigidity and durability.
If there’s such thing as a perfect building material, this is it!
Structural Insulation Panels (SIP) are the next step in modern building techniques. Through their strength and ease of construction, SIPs offer our clients more versatility than other construction materials, allowing possibilities beyond the conventional, for open spaces that fully utilise any building plot.
Our SIP panels are made up of two sheets of Oriented Strand Board (OSB) with a thick insulated layer sandwiched between them. The insulation layer is the highest quality injected Polyurethane foam, which bonds to the boards under heat and pressure to form one large, very rigid and well insulated panel.
